How it walks+

The head and the big abdomen are lattices of soft jelly cells, solved with XPBD springs and volume keeping, so the belly lags and wobbles.
Each leg is bent by IK from its hip to its foot, knee up and out, with a springy chain on top so it flexes.
A planted foot stays glued to the table until it is too far from where it should be; then it lifts in an arc and lands ahead.
Legs step in two groups of four, L1 R2 L3 R4 then R1 L2 R3 L4, like a real spider's tetrapod gait.
Colour lives inside the jelly at each point's rest position, so patterns stay put as it squashes; light is absorbed by thickness.
All sound is synthesised live from oscillators and filtered noise.
