How it wobbles
  1. The slice is a solid, not a shell: about 3,000 tetrahedra fill it, and the smooth skin you see is pinned inside them, seeds and all.
  2. Every frame is cut into a dozen tiny steps. In each, XPBD nudges each tetrahedron’s edges back toward their resting lengths — gently in the flesh, firmly in the rind.
  3. A second rule per tetrahedron holds its volume, so a squeeze on one side bulges out the other instead of deflating.
  4. Only the jiggle is damped, never the fall or the spin, so it trembles a few times and settles back to the exact shape it was cut in.
  5. Light fades the further it travels through the jelly (Beer–Lambert), so thick parts turn deep and thin edges glow.
  6. The floor behind is re-sampled along a bent ray, so it refracts and swims as you squish.
