How it works
The ice is a grid of cells storing thickness and snow depth; the shelf is drawn from it as one smooth surface.
A crack you draw marks cells; when it closes off a region, that region becomes a floe: a rigid raft that bobs on the waves, drifts with the wind and carries whoever stands on it.
Open water is a wave-equation heightfield: your cursor and every splash push it, waves bounce off the ice and the glass.
Freezing grows ice from the edges in branching crystals and welds floes back; thawing nibbles the edges away.
Each animal runs a tiny state machine (walk, slide, dive, swim, leap...) and keeps its own happiness.
Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, Shift-drag to pan, double-click an animal to follow it. Every sound is synthesized live.
The ice won't load
