How it works

The planet is a sphere of ~40,000 points; each stores height, water, moisture, plants, snow and temperature.
Water flows downhill from point to point and fills basins into lakes and seas.
Plants grow where it is wet and mild, and spread to their neighbours, so green creeps out from the water.
People build new houses along little roads near water and green; villages grow into towns and cities whose windows light up on the night side.
Seasons follow the tilt: north and south are opposite. Climate pushes ice ages or deserts.
Left-drag spins the planet, right-drag (or two fingers) turns the camera, scroll zooms, double-click follows. Every sound is synthesized live.
